Aurelia sallies forth again

This morning I went back to Field 1, determined to try out a few more programmes and to swing the Deus over parts of the lower parts of the field I’d not tried earlier in the week. With no better result. I tried Basic 1, Basic 2, GMP and Deus Fast  (though the latter was rather superfluous considering how little iron there is at that end of the field) and found a few nails and a bit of foil. After 3 hours of detecting I have a new respect for the ADX 150 which clearly hadn’t been missing anything significant after all.

So what is going on here? This is rural Warwickshire, a few hundred yards from a church of medieval foundation. Where are all the finds?

I retired in even greater confusion.
