About me

I’m a middle aged professional female who really should know better than to go wandering around the fields in the rain digging up buried horse shoes. I’ve been interested in history and archaeology for over 40 years and during the early 1970s and mid-1980s took part in several archaeological digs in North Yorkshire and Norfolk.

I started metal detecting in October 2011 with an XP ADX 150 detector but upgraded to the XP Deus in March 2013. Since I started I’ve been a member of a couple of local clubs and one regional one, but at present I mostly detect on my own.

  1. Hello there, I am a data journalism student at City University writing a story about ‘detectorists’ and treasure in England. Would you consider speaking with me on the phone for 5-10 minutes? Many thanks and have a lovely Sunday.

    • Hi Nell, Thanks for your message but I prefer not to talk to the media. Maybe try John Winter who himself writes for the various detecting magazines. You can find a link to his blog from my blog. Kind regards.
